Nadia Elena Comaneci

In 1976, she became famous when she scored the first ever perfect 10 on an asymmetrical bar at the Montreal Olympic Games. Additionally, she had six other perfect 10s and made her fourteen years young, the youngest Olympic medalist in all categories. Nadia Comaneci managed at attracting international attention to help Romania get its place on the world map. The sporting icon was a worldwide sensation after she achieved an impossible score. She created a legend and helped to popularize gymnastics all over the world. The sport changed the way people view female athletes. This was due to the effect she made in the Olympics, that both the moves toe-on (toes on) as well as the release movement were named in her honor. They have remained, to this day, as challenging. Also, she performed very well in World Championships, European Championships and the Olympics. That led to her becoming a legend and she's among the most famous gymnasts in the world.
