The father of her was Argentine with Scottish as well as English roots. Her mother is Spanish-English. Taylor-Joy was born into a clan that included six children. Four of her siblings are from the previous marriage to Taylor's dad. The family relocated to Buenos Aires to Victoria, London at the age of six when Taylor-Joy was born. Taylor Joy claims that her move was very traumatic. Taylor Joy was unable to study English and was hoping to relocate back to Argentina. Hill House, a school in the same district in the same district as Northlands must enroll her. She later enrolled at Queen's Gate School where she trained in ballet and appeared in school productions. At 16, she quit the school in order to focus fully on acting. Taylor-Joy's dream to be an actor of professional caliber was born at an early age.
